The Slammer - Episode 10
First broadcast: Friday 24 November 2006, BBC ONE/CBBC Channel, 4:55pm

The Governor's really happy today, as he'll be the star of a TV interview! A camera crew is coming later to film his big television debut, or so he thinks. It is very important nothing goes wrong today, which brings the Governor to the second point of the day's staff meeting. It has been brought to his attention that 'some' joker is swapping things around in the Slammer. Overnight, the Governor's desk turned into a wendy house, and Stephen Mulhern's pack of cards has been swapped with jam sandwiches! And he's on the Freedom Show later on!

Charlie Chimp is reading a book and Peter Nokio is snoozing while Melvin is looking for his toothbrush. Peter wakes up and Melvin tells him he found a banana where his toothbrush used to be. "It's strange, things keep turning up in the weirdest places." Peter Nokio can't help Melvin looking for it, as he's feeling really tired for some reason.

Frank Burgess and Jeremy Gimbert enter the cell. Jeremy was looking for Melvin, he's got a problem. "Someone in the prison keeps swapping stuff around. This morning I went to put my hand in my pocket to get my keys, and all I found was this, baked beans! Uncle Governor's going to be really angry when he finds out." The mystery mover is beginning to annoy Melvin too, and he promises to find out who's responsible.

The Governor's having a chat with Showaddywaddy when Mr Burgess and Jeremy drop in. Frank Burgess finds the swapping scandal's gone to far. His prize truncheon was swapped with a plastic chicken, and Jeremy's cap has been replaced with big knickers! The Governor doesn't know what to do, and he's worried that the mystery mover will still be about when the journalist arrives for the interview. "I'm gonna be a laughing stock!" Mr Burgess has got an idea, a way of insuring that nothing else goes wrong before the interview. "We sent them all to bed. We put all the prisoners to bed, that way, while they're asleep, they can't get up to any mischief." The Governor agrees and orders his prison wardens to see to it at once.

All the inmates are sleeping, but there's something strange going on in Melvin and Pete's cell. Charlie Chimp's awake, and drags Peter out of the cell. Melvin wakes up and notices Charlie Chimp is dragging Peter round the prison. He's the one responsible for all the swapping! Melvin tries to get Peter back into his cell, but he's too late! Mr Burgess sees them and takes them to see the Governor. Peter doesn't know what's happening, as he was fast asleep all of the time.

"These two gentlemen have something to tell you about the mystery mover" Frank Burgess tells the Governor, who's television interview is just moments away. "Go on then Melvin, spit it out." Melvin's just about to say something as the camera crew for the '10 past 3 show' arrive. The Governor forgets all about the mystery mover. The interview's over in no time, which is just as good, as the Freedom Show's about to start. It's showtime, and Melvin managed to save his good friends Peter and Charlie Chimp!
